http://aattp.org/hey-anti-vaxxers-nyc-court-rules-parents-dont-have-the-right-to-send-unvaccinated-children-to-school/New York City schools require all students to get a series of basic vaccinations in order to attend classes, but the state of New York allows parents to opt-out of vaccinating their children
Three anti-vaxxer families in the city obtained those exemptions, but their children were barred from attending school because they chose to not properly vaccinate their children. Their children were kept home, sometimes for months at a time, because the citys policy bars unimmunized children from attending public schools when another student has a vaccine-preventable illness....
Citing a 1905 Supreme Court ruling that Massachusetts was legally able to fine a man for refusing a smallpox vaccine, Judge William Kuntz ruled that the court had strongly suggested that religious objectors are not constitutionally exempt from vaccinations.

Whooping cough is one nasty little disease

(3,042 posts)Just kidding. There's been increased whooping cough and measles activity here. Maybe parents think a stay at Children's is a good thing?

(946 posts)I've been doing that every day this winter and I haven't gotten the flu yet! I also have this lovely crystal that keeps tigers from attacking me. It works quite well, I haven't seen one yet!

(13,081 posts)I've been trying to figure out who stole my anti-tiger crystal and it's been a DUer the whole time?
I've been waist deep in tigers all winter long and it's YOUR fault. I hope you're happy. What's it like, living in your crystal palace where there aren't tigers constantly trying to eat you? Because I can tell you what it's like down here for us regular folk: filled with god damned tigers, that's what it's like.
Do whatever you want to do as parents on your own time and in your own space as long as no one is being harmed or put at risk. The second your stupid decisions start to put my daughter in danger, fuck you. Go be a dumbass somewhere else.
Wild-eyed "Christian" fundies used to be about the only group I came into contact with at all with whom I struggled to be civil. Anti-vaxxers are now another. They piss me off and for good reason.

(31 posts)Those anti-vaxxers are the reason for the recent influx of previously eradicated diseases. Crazy maniacs.
