United Health Care dropped me

This is a long story. I am self-employed. I applied for Obamacare through an agent. Gave them my routing number and everything to take out a premium. I noticed in December of 2015 the premium had not yet come out of my account, I called several times they said I was paid and was covered in Jan 2016, Then I got a letter saying they had issued and it had not been withdrawn from my account but it will be on Jan 1, and will post 3 days later. Still that had not occurred, I called again and informed them again and informed them, same reply oh I was paid and covered. Went to my agent on the 22nd of Jan and informed him, he made a call and had the premium deducted for two months, Jan and Feb. They neglected to process it and just dropped me.

Now a little background info I am 17 years cancer free, my daughter and granddaughter both have epilepsy, my granddaughter was diagnosed with cancer at 9 months. It gets worse but I will stop there. Right now I feel quite well. My question is do they know that? Is that why they dropped me. I think I am doing some research, I blame this on United and not Obamacare. My sister says United is well hated. I live in Kansas so remember there is no Medicaid expansion or a Kansas site. I found one , well two employee reviews for insurance, and they were quite negative. One said She does not know how they get away with this, they must have connections. Any information would be appreciated.

did you send through "registered mail" ie number...or do you have number from e-mail applications dates...it's all their fault tell them so...and go to the insurance commissioner in your state....since the ACA they should be happy to give them a call I am sure you are not the first person this has happened to ....

I guess I don't know what the ie number means. My agent called for all their clients to check up on the statues of the payments and they cleared all of them. They have a call number and everything. I do not, I did keep the letter though. My agent said they dropped one out of every five of their clients, and they were able to get every one re-instated, all but me. My computer crashed, and I just restored it, very strange

or whatever that proves you applied or paid...and again...any confusion..like the agent is just there to help you apply...so they will not be helpful if the insurance co is being stubborn which is why you need to go through your state insurance commissioner...because with the ACA you can't be refused...so....your insurance commissioner you can find online...there will be a gov website ...just follow whatever instructions for assistance....that you find there

That's what s/he gets a commission for.

If it can be demonstrated that the premium was paid on time or within any grace period, then UHC really doesn't have a leg to stand on.

and I could see it was never taken from my account, so I called them repeatedly and they kept saying it was paid and everything was cool. I could see that was not true. They even sent me a letter saying my account was not deducted from the bank but they would do it on the 1st of Jan 2016, which was not done. So I called them again. same story. I am at the point this was not ineptness this was on purpose. Oh they are good aren't they. The story is longer. I had to go to Florida because my daughter was 9 months pregnant, very scary, having pre-seizure events going through early labor, and I am going again on Wednesday. She had her baby emergency C-section, put into an induced coma and had a helicopter ride and everything. Remember we have Brownback in office. Coventry left the state so United came in. Something is fishy.

if it should be right and it's not a call from the state insurance commissioner will give the insurance company the inspiration to fix it if you know what I mean

I have a case number with the State Insurance commissioner . I will call her tomorrow. I have a feeling it will take more than that. Remember Brownback. I have gotten old and not willing to back down.

Period. See if you can get a lawyer's opinion. It should be free for an initial consultation.

I have been hearing about A lot of the insurance companies backing out of the ACA program. Don't know much about it but it seems to be a 1st of the year problem. I feel for you. Does Kansas have a state division that overseas the administration of all federal programs in the state?

Even as crappy as Texas is, we have regional offices for the mix of Federal and state programs.

Texas Regeional Council of Governments.

he said at one point that United wants to get rid of the agents, sorry I had company and my computer crashed again. Just does it with this website. I started my own account with the gov website but I got stuck with the income for next year, I am self employed and did not kow how to answer that
