Let's see, get along with a little pain in my joints or take this drug and possibly die? That's a stumper, for sure.

If you had told people 20 years ago that the network evening news would be dominated by ads for products you can't go out and buy directly, with a narrative that devotes more than half its time to the potential unpleasant side effects of the product, and that the products advertised were targeted to about 10% of the viewing audience, people would have thought you were bonkers.

I can't for the life of me imagine why prescription medications cost so much.

after watching them list the side effects, you'd deserve to be dead.

I laugh every time I hear them say tell your doctor....

I'm 74 and I was really hoping for a reprieve or immortality or something.
Medical science is coming up with new shit every day.
So you're sayin' 'this is it'?
Period?
You're into this whole "We're all gonna die" thing?
Really?
Bro, (Sis?) you just harshed my entire mellow.

He looked at it and asked: "How old are you?"

74, what do you recommend?

"Get a primary care Doctor."

I got a trapeze, it is working.

I actually saw this in a pharmaceutical commercial:

"Some people who take (insert drug here) may see symptoms of blurrred vision. Heart attack or stroke may occur in one out of 15 patients, and some may experience death as a side effect. So ask your doctor if (insert drug here) is right for you!"

And then I also like how all drug ads say something like "See our ad in Golf Magazine!". Like we're actually going to go find the ad.

I was like...SERIOUSLY?!? A side effect?!? I'm reminded of the Carlin skit.

"Well Dan, there's no reason you can't live another 35, maybe 45 years. However, you will be bleeding constantly from both eyes."

The amount of money spent on the ads--billions--is outrageous. Only the US and New Zealand allow these direct to consumers advertising of
meds.

I don't have a doctor, never had and never will.
They are pill pushers and everyone I know that has any dealing with them is dead.
Edit to add: I had 30 stitches once and a broken arm as a kid. Why are there no
General Practitioners anymore?
