The End of the Establishment?
Monday, February 22, 2016
Step back from the campaign fray for just a moment and consider the enormity of whats already occurred.
A 74-year-old Jew from Vermont who describes himself as a democratic socialist, who wasnt even a Democrat until recently, has come within a whisker of beating Hillary Clinton in the Iowa caucus, routed her in the New Hampshire primary, and garnered over 47 percent of the caucus-goers in Nevada, of all places.
And a 69-year-old billionaire who has never held elective office or had anything to do with the Republican Party has taken a commanding lead in the Republican primaries.
Something very big has happened, and its not due to Bernie Sanders magnetism or Donald Trumps likeability.
Its a rebellion against the establishment. ................(more)

(40,416 posts)Not just for the Reich link, but maybe also for the Detroit Tigers "D".
Grew up there. I remember Dick Brown, one of the long line of great Tiger catchers. Frank Lary, who as pitcher was called "the Yankee killer". Hank Aguirre who batted 1 for two, one hit for two seasons. And Don Mossi, arguably the ugliest guy to ever mount the mound, but who pitched a two hitter with his wicked fast ball. And don't get me started about Charlie "Paw Paw" Maxwell.
My best to you, hopefully a fellow Detroiter.

The lyrics to the songbird's melodious trill go something like this:
"Stay out of my territory or I'll PECK YOUR GODDAMNED EYES OUT!"
