Looking ahead, reality per Norman Goldman:

Norman Goldman was making a great point.

https://www.normangoldman.com/blog/blog-details.asp?BID=3483

Citing a Los Angeles Times article, Norman notes that in California, and nationwide, Republicans are losing constituents because of their extremism. Republicans are becoming independents and, to a lesser extent, Democrats. Younger people are not becoming Republicans. The ones who are becoming Democrats are moderates and their voice has to be recognized.

I don't know where Norman got this number but I heard him saying that only 24% of Democrats are radicals. From what I see I question whether radicals are really Democrats at all. Actually I doubt it. For one thing when queried directly radicals have told me they aren't Democrats and they have expressed nothing short of hatred and contempt for Democrats.

Norman's point, cut the radical crap out. And he's right. Radicalism has destroyed the Republican Party. We need the moderates. We don't need radicalism.

The article Norman referred to:

http://www.latimes.com/politics/la-pol-ca-california-voter-registration-20160222-story.html

Republicans have suffered the greatest blow from the shifting allegiances of California voters. No statewide GOP candidate has been elected since 2006, and the party's share of the electorate since then has plummeted by seven percentage points.

Mike Madrid, a Republican political strategist, attributes this to "the national brand." As a result, he says, most unaffiliated voters aren't in play for GOP candidates.

"More Californians are consciously saying no party represents my views, but are saying if they have to choose, then they'll choose Democrats," he said.

What is his definition of a radical? Is it radical to think anyone who works full time should earn a living wage? Is it radical to think that we should have strong unions? Radical to think college should at least be affordable?

His point was that we are defeating Republicans because of their ideological purists. We are gaining moderates. Independents are more likely to vote Democratic.

He said he was getting abused by Bernie Sanders' supporters and he said something about how they are only 24% and they have no business thinking they're going to ram their ideology down the majority's throat.
