Come out of the closet.

The people in poverty need to come forward, out of the shadows. Let America look at the faces of the poor, see the lines of hard work, the smile that is no longer there, because you lacked funds for decent dental care.

When they speak about the poor, let there be a real human face., real human life. People need to see what greed has done, by the ravaged marks left behind on your face, your body.

You didn't cause this economic mess, yet you are being singled out to suffer the most for it. You didn't cause the morgage crisis, you can't afford healthcare let alone a morgage, yet you are being asked to sacrifice for it.

People need to see you, come out of the closet,

that had held a good job for years providing for your family and all of a sudden the rug gets pulled out from under you, come out? I think many of these people are probably very depressed and embarrassed that they no longer work or can provide.
Very sad what has happened to this country in even the last 12 years. We have been thrown off the cliff.

I do understand where you were going with this, and wasn't criticizing you at all, just thinking how I would feel in that position.

Why would they be embarrassed? What did they do that was wrong? People need to see the real flesh and blood people. Look into their eyes, see the lines of worry, see their condition. People need a dose of reality. The millions of fellow Americans in poverty.

in the shadows.

What do they have to lose? Seek out town halls, go to rallies, when its the question answer time...stand up and say I live in poverty, and I want America to see my face.

I couldn't afford dental care, so I lost my smile. I lost the chance at better jobs. I have a face of one who has struggled in poverty...People need to see the face of those greed has kept down.

Why do you think they have a campaign now degrading the poor, making them out as the cause of the economic crash? I don't know, but its the worst kind of warfare, to beat down those already down.

As shining examples of what, I don't know.

Greed is still Good, apparently.

who hid his money offshore to avoid paying taxes in this country's worst economic recession since the Great Depression. They want to have more money in tax cuts, to park in Swiss bank accounts and the Cayman Islands. It isn't enough, like addicts it will never be enough.

I am bled dry.

If I had money to start a website, it would be "Say Hello to Poverty" have people who are living in poverty to show their faces with their story. If America actually looked at the faces of the poor, hear their stories. Put a face on poverty. Let them know the votes they make affects real live human beings.

Maybe that next vote to raise the minimum wage wouldn't be so difficult, talking months, years to come to agreement and raise it. While it took a few days to hammer out the bail out for Wall street.

The poor have been waiting patiently for our piece of the dream. And the poor have dreams you could not imagine. When is it our turn? When will congress call a session to order to end poverty?

When do we matter?
