June 5 elections - advice requested

There's statewide elections in my home state of New Mexico tomorrow, June 5. I'm voting straight democratic. Republicans here have sucked up to the oil and gas industry and corporations like Walmart. They've also jeopardized our wonderful film incentive program, which has created thousands of good paying jobs and provided an excellent infrastructure for long lasting work. Other reasons for voting for democrats are too numerous too mention here, but they're similar to those nationwide.

There's little widespread attention to our State election. I'd venture to say that most don't even know there is one. And that among those who do know, most don't know to what district they belong, where they can vote, and who is running on what issues. I've checked both newspapers today (the Santa Fe New Mexican and the Albuquerque Journal) and there's headlines about all sorts of random things, but you have to dig deep to find that there are even elections going on. I think we all need to spread the word as best we can that there are elections, find out where to vote, find out what district you belong to, etc. That's the least we can do as democrats.

I'm interested in who else has elections in their State. I'm aware of Wisconsin. I hope Gov. Walker is defeated.

Please share election information from your State. And suggest how to educate people on the basic facts of voting. We can and will do better today, tomorrow and in the future, by sharing information and suggestions. Thanks and have a wonderful day. And be sure to vote!

IN my district and county's primary, everything was decided at the convention so there was no opposition. On the GOP side in my district there's a teabagger Navy SEAL challenging the congressman who tried to redefine rape.

In North Jersey there's three competitive Democratic primaries, which I will be watching.

Statewide it's all but determined who will be the GOP nominee for senator, but I'd like to see the tea party hack at him.

i actually voted early.. the one ballot question i had was between Gresham, and Greigo.. at first i wanted to vote for a woman, but have friends who have interacted with each.. clearly Greigo became the best choice.. think we will have a good ticket going forward..

while New Mexico is polling blue, the thought of returning Heather Wilson to Washington terrifies me.. i will work for the Democratic ticket in the general as health allows.

Congratulation on voting early. I'm voting for Greigo as well. I checked on who IATSE (the film workers union here) endorsed and they endorsed Greigo.

I'm really glad to hear from someone else in our State. I agree with you about stopping Heather Wilson. I used to think of her as some sort of moderate but don't think of her that way any longer. Plus, her commercials (which I occasionally see while watching the nba playoffs) irritate the heck out of me. They don't say anything of substance. Just crap about Washington is broken and she will stop runaway spending. What a load of bs - her party is most responsible for breaking Washington, and our State too!
