The Media should be occupied!

The Media are the cause of imbalance in this country. Broadcasting lies, unfair imbalanced reporting. When one sees more balanced media in other countries it makes one wonder if we should occupy the media here. Part 1 Wall Street Part 2 The Media.

After all the media are and they are backed by big corporations. How about it?

Go to your Congresssman's office and see if you can get in and see him or her, now ask yourself if the editor of your local newspaper can get in to see him or her. The press is the only real access you have to your Representative, it is they, by inference with their questions, that convey your desires to the Rep, it is they who carry the Rep's message back to you. When the media fails us then representative democracy has failed us.

The sad fact is that about 1/3 of the American populace is thoroughly brainwashed by about 100 years worth of propaganda, so brainwashed that they don't even know it. The other 2/3rds are busy working their asses off and don't have any time whatsoever to get involved in media and would prefer instead to be entertained during their time off, which is completely understandable.

There are free media outlets everywhere already, such as RT and public access TV and the internet but, it's really hard to convince someone who's been working 12 hours already to get interested in a global perspective or even a community perspective day in and day out.

I've said many times that the only way to get the American people involved in anything is to let them know that everyone is treated equally by holding a few big criminals accountable, like Bush/Cheney, at which point every American would indeed feel like the average person has just as much of a voice as the well-connected do. But, the big criminals walk free which lets us all know that we don't mean sht and our voices are worthless.

I'm sure you are right that you can get it for free. Their website is certainly free.

But they aren't 'free' as in 'free to report anything.' They are the English-language propaganda arm of the Russian government, which is an authoritarian regime. Russia is, for all intensive purposes, a one-party state. There are opposition parties, but they are either stooges, marginalized, or extreme (nationalist and rump Communists). Real opposition in Russia does not have much of a political voice within system. And they have very little voice at all in the Russian media, courtesy of the same folks who give us RT.

The Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky 24/7 sex scandal for over 2 years
Faux News Channel and the fucking 24/7 Corporate Cable news channels
Americans voting for George "Dumbya" Bush because Al Gore "lied" about creating the Internet, the Love Canal and being too "wooden"
Americans being fooled into believe that Saddam Hussein was responsible for 911
Dumbed down Americans demonizing war heroes (Max Cleland, John Kerry) while praise war criminals (Dumbya Bush, Dick Cheney and the Crime Syndicate)
A great deal of Americans believing that President Obama is not American, is a Muslim, a terrorist, a socialist who's trying to kill grandma

The Corporate Media is why this country is divided by race, class, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender.

Because the Corporate Media refuses to do its job, we may yet again endure at least four more years of failed trickle down policies simply because Americans have been brainwashed into believing that the wealthy are deserving, the poor and middle class are to be damned, and "the black guy" is responsible for all that is wrong in this country.

MSM has gone past the point of no return. We now must search for our OWN facts, kicking them along to spread the TRUTH. I am posting here for the first time, I've been a daily reader for months now, sitting here taking it all in. I'm @ once delighted, saddened & not @ all surprised @ the lengths & depths of vile, disgusting, treacherous, & dare I say...virtually treasonous behavior displayed by what passes for "citizenry" these days, not to mention the liar congress We now must endure. Are 2 major wars & over 150 forward operating bases around the world not enough for these "citizens"? We don't have enough enemies around the globe? Now "they" must turn on they're own brothers & sisters for what?, self aggrandizement, privilege & payback? They can't stand it, having an intelligent man of color in the white house who doesn't make a complete fool out of himself on a daily basis...you know...like every repbooblican't candidate OR sitting POTUS since The Big Dick himself! Take any issue over the last 50 years...ANY one!, & show Me one, just ONE republican solution that has worked, much less made sense! WE... don't need dirty tricks! WE... don't have to rig the game. WE just have to freaking SHOW UP AND VOTE DEM DEMMETT!!!

The politicians use to fear the media, now they count on them to cover up their crimes and push their propaganda.

But there are fine indy shows and outlets that could use a hand. For example, Free Speech TV has a show called "Occupy the Media". Amy's show is on almost 1000 stations now and they need help. LINK TV airs good documentaries as well as MosaIc (Middle East news). They are always asking for help.

In Greece, the stations just let the protesters in, gave them the microphone and allowed them to speak about the reasons for their protest.

They ignore us, so we take the protest to them.

We make them uncomfortable talking about Britney Spears while real people with real issues are standing outside.

We make them embarrassed to enable fascists.

We camp right outside and make them witness the American people every day, make it hard for them to continue the BS.

we have to take it directly to the media and demand they tell the truth, no matter who is paying their bills.

They are using our public airwaves.

The FCC provides a license to stations with the understanding that they serve the public interest.

If they do not, we can and should have their licensed removed.

Until then, we can occupy the TV stations, demand they tell the truth, and expose their stupid distraction a lies for the 1%.
