(31,924 posts)It has nothing to do with Clinton's campaign. There is going to pay back for the way Michelle was treated all of these years. Doesn't need to be at DU - and doesn't need HRC's approval or disapproval. If the First Lady tells us to stop that's fine. I will not be kind or respectful of the second coming of Eva Braun. They were rotten to Michelle - she's an easy target to bring the Republicans to heel.

(31,924 posts)I've got 8 black women with me.
We also keep reaching out to the DListed guy. If there are goods out there - he will have them. Or obtain them.

(10,493 posts)Slut shaming. Really. Is this what the Democratic Party has adopted now?

(31,924 posts)Telecom.
You know what they say about people who are successful in Corporate America don't you?
If you choose to define me that way - good for you!
Black women have been defined as
Mammies
Jezebels (look up night time desegregation - rapes of black women during Jim Crow)
Angry
Welfare Queens
Crack Shores
Etc etc
Seeing the highest black woman in America degraded all of these years? Someone elite black women relate to?
So be it - we've been called worse and defined worse by this country for hundreds of years. She is an easy target for the ANGER simmering under the surface at America for years.

(10,493 posts)I live in what sometimes feels like the rebellious red holdout of a blue state. The stuff I hear, and what people will openly say or put in writing turns my stomach.
Yet we have still managed to push through many of her initiatives to improve our community through public gardens, park expansion, trails and expanding education programs in schools.
Try to do good always, despite the obstacles your faced with. Fight people that limit advancement by shining a light on their words and actions, don't let them take your voice or use it against you. And work with people to make honest change, even when you know they aren't honest people.

(62,444 posts)Approval? An attaboy? Some kind of congratulations on your brilliant plan?
In case you haven't noticed, most of the people who've responded to you have indicated they think it is stupid, juvenile and counterproductive. The defense of "other people have done stupid shit" is the standard defense of people doing stupid shit.
Knock yourself out, but nobody gives a shit what she did for a living.

(51,076 posts)I think that has kept a lot of good people from being a candidate over the years.
I know in my personal life you can say or do to me what I won't even dream of allowing to happen to my family. I believe many feel the same way. So leave the family out of this

(13,029 posts)Every serious presidential candidate uses their family to promote themselves politically. When they parade their wife and well-scrubbed kids out on a stage somewhere and try to send the message "Look at me, I'm a great husband and family man, so you can trust me to be a great president", THEY are the ones who have opened the door and made their family life relevant and legitimate topics for discussion.
Don't want your family to be part of the debate? Leave them the fuck out of it.

(45,319 posts)taken together that makes many younger people dislike him and her. It's one thing to say 'oh, it's so charming that he's a horn dog' but when you follow that up with 'Marriage is sacred and those homosexuals should not be allowed to taint it' right after you snicker about cigars and interns, that's raging hypocrisy and exploitation of other people as cover up for yourself.
So they used LGBT as cover for him. It's too late to dismiss his own behavior as irrelevant. His behavior coupled with their rhetoric about good same sex households is in fact why I'd much rather no have her as nominee.
giftedgirl77
(4,713 posts)are taken nearly as seriously as you seem to think. If you think an ad pointing out that Bill slept around is going to garnish any interest you are solely mistaken.
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)hell don't care for hypocrites who sleep around then preach about how sinful other people are. See? It's not the sex, it's the faked up moral outrage at other people having sex or making families coupled with their own freewheeling way of life.
It's the inconsistency, the double standard, the holding up of LGBT as inferior because of Christian Standards which those berating us do not even pretend to live by.
So you assertion is that young folks just love old people who fuck around while shaming other people's sexuality? They see that as super good? I think you are super wrong.

(942 posts)a bunch of new evidence came out against Epstein, and prosecutors want to void his plea deal and charge him with additional underage molestations.
If there is a trial, Clinton and other prominent people may come up, and even may be called as witnesses.
Any association with Epstein (billionaire hedge fund creep and sexual predator) is not what you want during an election campaign.

(45,319 posts)the OP a fact free, link free opportunity for you to say 'slut'. Where are these facts? Who is 'another DUer'? What am I supposed to agree or disagree with?

(131 posts)"JustAnotherGen" said exactly what I quoted in another thread, and then reiterated her position here (and added to it).
Bluenorthwest
(45,319 posts)As I said, your OP puts no fact out there at all, and seems to be just a large frame for the word 'slut'. It is possible to ask the question without that word. But you are not even asking a question. Just saying the word.
UtahJosh
(131 posts)again, it was a direct quote. I quoted it, then asked if others agreed with such a position.
And the composer has identified herself, so it's not as though the quote itself is in question.
And I most definitely am asking a question. The question is, do you or do you not agree with that type of sentiment.

Combine that with Debbie Wasserman Schultz running around insulting everyone from Millennials to the states that have voted for legal pot, and boy, our brand is gonna smell GREAT!

(53,410 posts)You sound like one. Especially when you hide behind 'putting out facts' as your argument to slut shame. You also sound just like Donald Trump does after he insults everyone. He puts up his hands, does his ducklips all frowny look and shrugs regardless of how crass and vituperative he is.
