you could be working right now. You are a pawn, a hostage of the Republicans in Congress who don't give a damn about you or your family but only are about defeating President Obama. The only way they can do that is to keep you out of work. So, for you, it is up front and personal and every time you check the balance in your checkbook or wonder how much more money you will have to take out of your 401K, think of the jobs and infrastructure bill the President tried to get passed in March. If it wasn't for the Republican Congress, you would be working now.
This is the message! Replace construction worker with just about any other working class profession and you have it. Spread it around.

(31,849 posts)This is the narrative that President Obama supporters should be yelling loudly and often.
I would love it if our Democratic congressional representatives would embark on (what I believe to be) a winning strategy:
The Democratic Caucus of both chambers should go back and re-introduce a portion of President Obama's Jobs Plan every week ... over and over, every week from now until the eve of the election, with the preamble ...
"President Obama attempted in March to get American workers back to work when he introduced the X Act. The gop voted in lock step to deny American workers this opportunity. Okay, that was then, with the re-introduction of the X Act, the Democratic Caucus is are giving the gop another opportunity to put American workers, back to work."
This can be made target specific by having the Democratic candidate in to each and every district in each and every state deliver the message, and specifically naming the gop candidate (if he/she voted against the Plan) and ending with "I'm XXX and I approve this message because I believe your job and your ability to support yourself should not be a political toy."
