I Ran Across Something Yesterday That Scared The Hell Out Of Me.....

I had to travel and I took a taxi to the airport. The driver was an American that lost his white collar job and because of his age mid-50's - he couldn't find another one. Being pressed against the wall - he took a job as a taxi driver to pay his bills and put food on the table for his family. Needless to say he was really bitter and most of his animosity was aimed toward Congress that is gridlocked and partisan. He felt that they could move things for the better - but because of politics - they became a joke in his eyes.

Well - he said he is going to vote for Trump. He felt that if Congress is a joke they might as well have a joker to deal with as President. He said this is not his sentiment alone - that he's got friends, relatives and colleagues that feel the same way. He says this accounts for the support that Trump is having all around the country.

Kind of scary - isn't it.

I was flabbergasted and he wouldn't listen to reason as to what is at stake in 2016.

2. You can't spend 30 years as a "political" party, destroying and running against "politics"

...and then be surprised when, at last, your former "supporters" do the same. To you.

Never mentioning his bigotry, scary lies and behavior. A true Frankenstein monster that so many are embracing. I am beyond being just frightened, I fear for our country and wonder if sanity will ever return.

5. The "John Scott" effect?

john Scott is an unknown hockey player that the fans voted into the all-star game essentially just to make a mockery of the process. Now we are going to do this with presidents too?

And we're desperately trying to foist a "stay the course" candidate upon them.

The establishment thought it could run the usual 'candidate red' vs 'candidate blue', only to find that large swathes of both 'team red' and 'team blue' were more interested in candidates who came from outside the establishment. At this point, it seems like the 'red' outside has a better chance of beating establishment 'candidate red' than the 'blue' one does, so the establishment is desperate to make sure that at least one of the establishment candidates makes it to the general, and will put all their resources behind that one if it's not establishment red vs establishment blue.

8. LOTS of people are rightfully angry at the status quo

I wish that Bernie had gotten the wall-to-wall coverage that was given Trump; maybe these angry people would see that they had a better alternative than Trump. Too late now, I guess.

The Democratic Establishment has chosen the most corrupt, banker-owned, status quo candidate imaginable. I don't give us much hope of winning in the fall with Hillary.

12. Trump is better than Clinton on Trade - but far from Bernie on that issue.

Provided Trump is not lying.

Judging from the negotiating on the Korean Free-Trade agreement - we can see that Clinton WAS lying.

So I can understand that support. Just never heard the "joker-vs-joker" argument before though.
