I know the word "fascist" gets thrown around a lot here but Trump fits the bill





-nativist, check
-extreme nationalist, check
-quick to advocate military solutions,check
-hostile to a free press, check
-appeal to race superiority, check
-scapegoats vulnerable groups, check

Your description fits more than one politician. Almost any Republican and some Democrats will satisfy every element, including "American exceptionalism."

Feels an authoritarian government is necessary;
Appeals to anti-immigrant, us vs them mentality.

Not disagreeing with OP's list, but these are the two main hallmarks of a fascist.
