The Great Charlie Tuna passed away at the age 71. I used to listen to him before I got my satellite radio. RIP, Mr. Tuna. You were one of the best.

His format is really good. It's oldies but he goes really deep into the top 40. Plus he throws in old classic commercials. I hear songs on there that are really good that I may never have heard before. I was born in 1961 and he goes back a little farther than that. He's had that going for five years or so now and is doing pretty well.
It's one of my main bitches about classic rock stations. You listen to them for a couple of weeks and you've heard about all they are going to play. You'll hear three or so Deep purple songs but not Space Truckin' ever! Or they never play any Grand Funk! How the hell do you leave those guys out? I called up one time to the classic rock station on their "double shot Friday" segment when they have an actual live DJ and requested a couple Grand Funk songs and heard the guys ask whoever else was around that. He said, "why don't we ever play any Grand Funk?" Sure, they weren't the greatest, but c'mon? There are at least ten songs from those guys that deserve a little play still.
Sorry for your loss. It was an important job back in the day. It's a shame we don't have more live radio where we need it.
