Anybody ever used MeetUp.Com to connect with other

politically oriented groups? Have you used it for other interests or social
gatherings?
I'm only just hearing about it, but was told it's been around quite a while
and is "great!" (with the qualifier that it all depends on who shows up).

Since then, due to things such as some of them still working or moving away and others having health issues, I realized that I needed to find some new friends. MeetUp has groups for almost anything you're interested in and if not, you can start your own group. I've found that the smaller groups work best for getting to know people because you'll see them more frequently at the meetings. The larger groups tend to have lots of activities to choose from, so there's always something to do. I've made new friends who share my interests in books, genealogy, progressive politics and French, to name a few of them. I highly recommend MeetUp, especially if you've moved to a new place and don't know anyone.

We lived in extreme rural eastern Kentucky where the BIG town 50 miles away has 2 traffic lights. 20 members but on a weekly basis around 10 would come to that town to watch Bengal games together.

We've moved away but the group still meets in football season.

Meetup group.

Some of the groups can be spotty. If one doesn't gel, try another.
