Woo as in astrology.
She even had yes or no decisions on White House activities based on what her astrologer told her.
She took that bullshit just a little too seriously.

(102,360 posts)she did take cutting edge science seriously too--given her taking on Ronnie's party re: stem cell research. So eventually, something or some one a bit more fact-based must have gotten through to her.
But, yes, the Jean Dixon crap was bizarre.

(1,033 posts)but she only spoke out in favor of stem cell research when Reagan starting having health issues.

(628 posts)Do you think she would have stood against her beloved republican party? I don't. It's only because it effected her.

(19,705 posts)It hit a little too close to home, I think.
I also think it's an appropriate topic to bring up since she did make WH decision based on her belief in Astrology.

(46,345 posts)The GOP (and some democrats) are bringing up when Hillary had a seminar at the White House, that while there was nothing supernatural mentioned, it was still labeled a "séance."

Yet Nancy Reagan making decision on White House activities, based on the Moon being in the 7th house, and Jupiter aligns with Mars?
"Oh that's different!"

Interlocking ties between GMO industry and scientists probed for conflict of interest
According to a report in Nature, US universities, including taxpayer-supported land grant institutions, have been targeted by a private advocacy group, US Right to Know. The group is investigating collusion between the agricultural biotechnology industry and academics involved with science, economics and mass communication. The activist group has so far used the courts to compel records from 40 researchers at US public universities.
