but Sotomayor and Kagan were appointed by Obama.

Other than Ginsberg, the only other Supreme Court justice appointed by Clinton was Breyer who is rather centrist.

a Republican, except I'm afraid some have probably come to believe their own propaganda. It's a dangerous indulgence.

I've lived in conservative areas for decades now and have seen dozens of former friends head down that road, the people they once were never to be seen again. I once believed the virulent anti-Democrat era would pass and they'd get back to their original fairly good sense, but it never happened. Now they've gone so far for so long that I literally don't believe they could find their way back. The beliefs of today's conservatives are bizarrely different from those before the 1980s.

With the information age facilitating connections and allowing bypass of local injections of reality, I'm guessing we're seeing much the same syndrome happen to the far left, their hostility toward those not with them turning out to be all too similar to the far right's hostility to those not like them.

Mercifully, the nature of liberals is to be relatively tolerant and open and intellectually curious, and moderate conservatives may have these characteristics to various degrees, but I really wonder how far down these roads of division and delusion we can go as a people.

Cherry picking one left-leaning success does not a person make.

He supported NAFTA... does that make him a Republican?

Welfare reform?

The gutting of Glass-Stegall?

Do I need to go on?

His stance on gun control is to the right of most progressives. He's even to the right of Hillary a lot of African Americans are progressive on a number of issues but a lot of AA's have conservative views on gay marriage

The current judges one and all are conservative corporate friendly judges. Being "liberal" on such a court only gets you "moderate" anywhere else.

Having lived here when we still had a court that thought votes were a more legitmate route to power than money, that is obvious.

All his great ideas like DADT and DOMA. With such "progressive" ideals who knows what he wanted.

that DADT wasn't, at that time, a step forward. He was trying to avoid gays being thrown out of the military for being gay. That is certainly NOT a conservative position (and still isn't).

to address DOMA, which of course Bernie voted against. Defense of Marriage Act. Let's not pretend that is not part of what is being discussed. Compare and contrast Sanders and Clinton on DOMA....who wins?

The person not promising to raise my taxes. The DOMA doesn't effect me at all and I'd like a link to where bill (who, by the way, is not on the ballot) is still defending DOMA NOW that the SC has found it unconstitutional.

Can we please dispel of the fiction that any of those three are either:

a) Radical Marxists (as propagated on the far right)

or

b) Republicans secretly disguised as Democrats (as propagated by the far left)

Seriously.....to claim that any of them are anything other than left of center moderate Democrats is idiotic.
