President Barack Obamas job approval has hit an almost three-year high among Americans, according to Gallup.
Fifty-percent of Americans approve of Obamas performance as the countrys chief executive, the highest level since May 2013. This is an uptick from his average approval rating during his seventh year in office, which was 46 percent, according to Gallup.
This is a direct reflection of the quality of candidates comprising this year's primaries fields.
But, it should be even higher. Thank you for posting this.

It may be that the candidate who more closely ties themselves to President Obama's policies will have the winning strategy, and that ain't Bernie.

(101,321 posts)Of the post-WW2 presidents who got to this stage, we have:
http://www.gallup.com/poll/124922/presidential-job-approval-center.aspx
Truman: 31% - party lost
Eisenhower: 64% - party lost
Reagan: 50% party won
Clinton: 63% - narrow popular vote for same party
GW Bush: 32% - party lost
I can't see that as a 'strong' correlation. The one time with a definite win for the president's party was GHW Bush following Reagan - who is in the midrange of popularity. Gore did get more votes for president, and arguably should have won Florida, but Eisenhower was just as popular as Clinton, and his party (and vice-president) lost.
