Boehner endorses Paul Ryan for president

Former House Speaker John Boehner Wednesday endorsed current House Speaker Paul Ryan to be the Republican presidential nominee.

At the Republican convention, “anybody can be nominated,” Boehner said at a conference in Boca Raton, Fla., Wednesday.

“If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I’m for none of the above,” Boehner said. "They all had a chance to win. None of them won. So I’m for none of the above. I’m for Paul Ryan to be our nominee.”

I think the bigger problem will the populist backlash at replacing a candidate who received a majority of a majority of the Republican poplar vote and a plurality of the delegates with someone who did not even run.
Trump is already hinting at riots.

He is not far from wrong.
If I had to pick between Trump and Cruz, I would take Trump.
Cruz is seriously into the Dominist religious cult, his father is a preacher in the cult, and they see themselves as "anointed" by God to control the earth.
Seriously.

They can't stand either of the 2 top candidates and have little respect for the one that just dropped out.
so their only hope is to make a change at the convention later this year.
I suspect Rove will be involved, altho he has wisely kept his name away from the circus for some time now.

They have no good options right now and, one way or the other, the GOP is dead. Letting the crazies break away might be the best option they have. They will be losing elections for a long time otherwise.
