LAS VEGAS REVIEW-JOURNAL

Prosecutors argued the defiant Bundy was a flight risk and posed a danger to the community. They submitted a lengthy memorandum supporting their push for detention.

Bundy’s lawyer, Joel Hansen, said Wednesday he opposes canceling the detention hearing in Las Vegas, arguing Bundy did not get a chance to respond fully in Portland to what he called the government’s “unsubstantiated” claims ...

Prosecutors argued in February that Bundy refused to obey court orders and used force and violence in the past against authorities and pledged to use it again ...

Bundy was not secretive about threatening to use arms against the US government. It makes no sense to release him so that he can go back and re-arm himself.

The DoJ should be making every effort to avoid giving Bundy and his fans anything to complain about, even if the complaints are bogus. Don't let them say he was deprived of a hearing. Yes, he already had a hearing, but they'll say he was deprived anyway. So let the baby have his bottle. Given Bundy's history, I have to assume that the Nevada judge will see the issue exactly the same way the Oregon judge did.
