In 2014, a pair of mated Bald Eagles chose the most idyllic of nest sites within the United States National Capital (Washington, DC), nestled high in a Tulip Poplar tree amongst the Azalea Collection at the U.S. National Arboretum, which is operated by the United States Department of Agriculture.

(1,052 posts)7. Very nice
But I can't let this partisan live cam thing go unchallenged.
I am Raven Clan, and can't stand aside while Eagles take precedence, not where balance ought to be maintained.
So here is a picture of a baby raven:
Balance restored.
Though, if I say so myself, no Eagle will ever be as cute as that.

(130,974 posts)8. How SWEET!
How's THIS, for a baby?!
and a noble bearing.
I won't reply with an even cuter bird, because we don't need any poultry wars here.
I have an ongoing dispute with my daughter, who foolishly believes that baby sea turtles are the cutest thing in the universe, when every discriminating judge of the matter knows that day-old ducklings take that honor.
By the way, the gander who is my avatar (Lenny is his name) is daddy of our first goose egg of the year today.

Baby sea turtles are very cute, but these little chicks sure are too!
