“One obvious theory behind Gov. Chris Christie’s surprise endorsement of Donald Trump in the Republican presidential race is that he wants to be Mr. Trump’s pick for vice president,” the New York Times reports.

“But whatever his wishes or their discussions, there is a complicating and possibly prohibitive factor: the trial in the closing of George Washington Bridge access lanes, the scandal that hobbled Mr. Christie’s own presidential hopes. Already postponed twice, the trial has now been pushed to September, putting it in prime time during the final months of the presidential campaign.”

However it would be fun for Trump to take time from the campaign for Trump University and then have Christie in trial on bridgegate. The two would have something in common
