Why we should not be worried about Trump.

After watching the mess in Arizona today, I have been thinking that we democrats are taking the prospect of a Trump presidency and blowing it out of proportion.

Trump is a facsist, and he does say a lot of disgusting things, but people have to realize that the President doesn't have much power in our political system.

42 Senate democrats WILL be able to prevent the wall from being built.

42 Senate democrats WILL be able to keep Trump "From killing Terrorists' Families".

42 Senate democrats WILL be able to keep Trump from doing anything while he is in Office.

Remember what happened to Obama, a man elected with the most EV in 20 years, and he STILL didn't get anything done that was controversial except the ACA, and that was even "watered down".

All I am saying, is that we shouldn't let our emotions get to us, and start protests that could harm innocent bystanders. The belief that Trump can become the next Hitler is hyperbole. It just won't happen. Remember, when Hitler came to power, the germans were less then a generation removed from being led by an Emperor with absolute power. They were used to the idea of one man being in control of everything. America has had a representative democracy for almost 240 years. I doubt ANYONE will be able to gain absolute power EVER in America. So in regards to Trump, don't get worked up, and let your protest be in the form of campaigning, phonebanking, and voting against him. Do not put innocents at risk.

I hope. So there's that.

Plus if Bernie is our nominee, Trump won't get elected.

I wouldn't put anything past them if they voted Herr Drumpf into office.

Look at your first assumption he could be elected. That is terrifying. You make the assumption that people no longer know what a fascist is. Unfortunately I find a surprising number until curious, hence ignorant. Two busy talking about the latest game to use their brains. I hope it is not that bad. Second you assume there are 42 democrats in the senate. If trump sweeps in that is unlikely. Then you assume democrats will be brave a smart and not owned by corporations. That is highly unlikely since the DNC is pushing third way blue dog corporate toadies all the way. Nope trump can push stuff and the few demo there will be helpless against him.

Edited because of auto correct

If Trump gets in, he will be very unhappy. He is a man who is used to getting his way, and the first time when something he wants to do something is blocked by Congress, he is going to throw a hissy-fit and look like a damn fool. I bet he pulls a Palin, and only serves 2 years.

There are too many forces working to stop him, including his own big mouth.

7. You're assuming that a Trump Presidency would play by the usual Constitutional rules...

...and I see no reason whatever to believe this. Trump will throw out the rule book if he can, and manipulate and twist the Constitution at any opportunity. I can easily see him telling the Supreme Court to go fuck off, and citing Andy Jackson as a precedent. I can easily see either a terror attack, or a "terror attack", panicking the country and letting him get his own way. I think a Trump administration would be a disaster, and a grave threat to our democracy, under any circumstances.
