California authorities raid home of anti-Planned Parenthood videographer

Investigators with the California Department of Justice on Tuesday raided the home of David Daleiden, the anti-abortion activist behind a series of undercover videos targeting Planned Parenthood, the activist said.

Authorities seized a laptop and multiple hard drives from his Orange County apartment, Daleiden said in an email. The equipment contained all of the video Daleiden had filmed as part of his 30-month project, “including some very damning footage that has yet to be released to the public,” he said.

A spokeswoman for California Attorney General Kamala Harris (D) said she could not comment on an ongoing investigation. But the raid confirms that California is among the states looking into possible criminal activity on the part of Daleiden and his organization, the Center for Medical Progress, which have been the center of controversy since releasing videos purporting to show that Planned Parenthood illegally sells fetal tissue for a profit.

however, it would go a long way if people who were elected to represent us would actually use their positions to publicly shame individuals like this guy.

For example, Obama very rarely used the bully pulpit to discuss pressing issues important to Democrats save for a few somber speeches after a mass-shooting. There were never any rallying speeches, no motivating speeches given before important state elections, nothing. It would be nice to hear from him and other democrat officials to offset the constant media coverage of extremely bothersome abuses of 'free speech', e.g. hidden videos at Planned Parenthood and other agencies, use of what were once public airwaves to lie with no repercussions and many others. I will not accept that this kind of crap is the new 'norm'.

I'll also note that this is yet another reason why I am so absolutely thrilled about Bernie's choice to run for the President of the U.S. He is always willing to speak publicly about travesties of justice and other issues that we should not be willing to tolerate.
