About the mission:

https://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/events/2016/april/launch-spacex-dragon-crs-8.aspx

BEAM
The Bigelow Expandable Activity Module (BEAM) is an experimental program developed under a NASA contract in an effort to test and validate expandable habitat technology. BEAM will serve as a vital pathfinder for validating the benefits of expandable habitats. NASA will test BEAM technology on the International Space Station for a two-year demonstration period. This test will include demonstration of launch and deployment with folding and packing techniques, and determination of radiation protection capability. Canadarm2 will remove BEAM from the Dragon spacecraft and berth the module to the Tranquility node (Node 3) of the ISS. Crew will initiate an automated deployment sequence, allowing the BEAM to passively expand to its full volume. Astronauts will periodically enter the BEAM to record data, and perform inspections of the module.

I may try and get over to the Delta Heavy launch. That should be spectacular.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll be watching this one online.

I watched one of the shuttles go up from about 7 miles away back in the early 80's. I still remember the ground shaking from that incredible distance.

The Delta (and soon Falcon) in the heavy configuration has even more thrust than the shuttle did as well. There is a Delta heavy scheduled in May I believe that I'm really going to try to get to.
