The three of them were feral when a friend of mine trapped them near her house last fall. The kittens were about 8 weeks old and the blind one had started running around out in the street, so my friend had to trap them immediately.

When the kittens are chasing each other around the house, you would hardly now that Echo is blind, especially when her sister is in the lead. When she is flustered or afraid, Echo will walk into furniture, but she is pretty good at getting around the house by herself when she is calm. This is her sister, Daphna:

...make sure to read Homer's Odyssey. This book is about a cat whose eyes were removed before they had opened, because a terrible infection rendered them untreatable. He compensated in impressive ways.

Buster was a neighborhood stray who used to follow the mail carrier all day on his route.

Victor--named the night Obama won reelection--was abandoned by a neighbor, and Cleo is a 9-year-old rescue rabbit. She was going through a molt when I took this photo. Victor is pretending she doesn't exist.

Jillian, your Australian cattle dog mix looks like a love! Thanks for the fun thread.

I don't have a pic on this computer, but let me say... my rescue gal is beautiful beyond words (we all think that, don't we?!)!

Sure, she is a cutie, but her presence and what she gives me everyday is priceless. I am honored to be hers.

Jack (orange tabby) and Sheba:
[IMG][/IMG]

And Vera:
[IMG][/IMG]

Edit to add: All are rescues. I went to an adoption event to get "a" cat and came home with three. This is why I am no longer allowed to go to adoption events without adult supervision (even though I'm 53 y/o) because I want to bring EVERYBODY home with me. Jack stole my heart from the first moment I laid eyes on him, Sheba seemed a good balance for him (and she is -- he's VERY high energy and a complete goofball, she is very calm and dignified)........and then I met Vera, who had lived a very hard life on the streets as a stray, and I knew she had to come home with us, too (she was difficult to acclimate -- she spent the first two weeks under my bed. Slowly but surely she is coming around. She LOVES to come for pets now, and will sit beside me on the couch, but she refuses to full-on snuggle. Someday!)

I've always been a dog person -- had cats when I was a kid, but not as an adult (my daughter is severely allergic). I had a pair of lovely labs (Hobie was yellow lab / golden retriever & Baja was black lab / chow), but they both passed away -- Hobie in November, 2014 at 16 and Baja in November, 2015 at 17. I loved them to the moon and back, and I was lonely for a furfriend after Baja passed, but just wasn't ready to give my heart to another dog yet........so, cats it was.

I was about to be homeless and I couldn't make him suffer too. So now he lives with a fireman and goes to work with him. He has two other husky friends at home to play with. He is happy. I miss him though, so much.

He had jut struck a gallant pose and I caught it in time.

Right now all 100 pounds of him is under my desk, drooling all over the floor, cause there is a noisy storm outside.

This is my dog, Jack. He's a Brussels Griffon, a pretty unusual breed. He was a pet shop rescue, couldn't be sold because he had a health problem, a hernia that was repaired when he was neutered, and it never showed him down... He was fostered at the Animal Emergency Clinic, so he gets along with everybody.

And my cat is Felix, since he really is a wonderful cat. I found him as a tiny kitten in a grocery store parking lot about a year and a half ago and he's grown into a beautiful cat!
