Jimmy Buffett's comments on NC law.

http://blog.margaritaville.com/2016/04/north-carolina/?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=FBblog&utm_content=NC#.VwwlCfkrLX4

I am not going to let stupidity or bigotry trump fun for my loyal fans this year. We will be playing in Raleigh and Charlotte next week.

That said, as for the future of shows in North Carolina, it would definitely depend on whether that stupid law is repealed. That is up to the good people of North Carolina and there are many, and I am confident that they will see that the right thing will be done.

As usual the idiots are posting like crazy about this on his FB page.

honor your commitment but refuse to rebook

not saying boycotting is the wrong choice but I bet there are a lot of pissed off Springsteen fans who don't agree with the law

3. If someone as big as Springsteen hadn't boycotted, news from others would not be stories.

Springsteen brought huge attention to the issue.

Yes, he brought more attention to it - but he didn't shine the light on it
But - he is part of the growing pressure on the gov and co. to change the laws

these are definitely good things but

The LGBT supporting Springsteen fan who wanted to see a good show is sacrificing more than Springsteen is

It may be a large chunk of money but he doesn't need it

The story should be about the fans and how they feel about it

So, as I said, the boycott is not wrong but it's grayer issue than presented

I can't criticize Buffet for his decision

And now every performer gets to help keep it in the public eye.

Thinking the use of the word "trump" is not an accident...

Jimmy added some lyrics/commentary on this issue in his song Great Filling Station Holdup:

Well I was sittin' down in the Waffle House confused as I could be
Ever since I heard the news, I don't know where to pee
Here in North Carolina, it's open to debate
Old folks here use common sense and others legislate

But still I don't wanna be anywhere other than here
Maybe out on the outer banks, sipping on a beer
No I'm gonna be anywhere other than here
Cause that great legislation holdup might cost 'em a lot next year
Yeah that great legislation holdup might cost 'em a lot next year
