You have no business 70 miles off Russia's coastline. You are the one provoking Russia.
Yep I know war is profitable but cut out this madness.
You're not that exceptional. Here comes the fugging imperial media. Fuck you CNN.

(154,021 posts)Putin is not a saint, and has been doing overflights and testing western defenses for a few years now.
And we are doing the same shit.
That is the larger picture. So is Xi.
So spare me

The US is now worse than imperial Britain.

(38,437 posts)You claim they have no business there -- based on what?
malaise
(269,157 posts)up with warships 70 miles of any part of the US coastline.
Pause for a few minutes and think about the non-stop interference in everything (down to who enters which bathroom in one US state) - it's pissing off the world. Law doesn't matter - it never did - ask the poor Iraqis.
All that matters to empire is raw power and force.
I've had enough of it. I abhor it the way I hated British colonialism.
Pretend for a day that you're from somewhere else on the planet and take an objective look at this planet's reality in terms of power and force.
How much more does America want - seriously?

It's international waters.
They were in international waters, having visited Poland, and doing an exercise with a Polish helicopter: http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/apr/13/russian-attack-planes-buzz-uss-donald-cook-baltic-sea

THE BERING STRAIT
The Bering Strait separates the two continents of Asia and North America. The strait is 82 kilometres (51 miles) wide at its narrowest point, between Cape Dezhnev on the Chukchi Peninsula in Russia and Cape Prince of Wales in Alaska, USA. It was named after Vitus Bering, a Russian explorer born in Denmark, and lies slightly south of the Polar Circle at approximately 65° 40' N latitude.
THE DIOMEDE ISLANDS
Sitting more or less in the middle of the strait are the Diomede Islands; Big Diomede (Russia) and Little Diomede (USA). The two islands are also known as Tomorrow Island (Big Diomede) and Yesterday Isle (Little Diomede) due to them being separated by the International Date Line.

(13,340 posts)You know we were operating close to an all, right? That little bullshit Russian enclave there on the Baltic does let them demand that Poland and the Baltic states don;'t get to interact with their ally. That's especially true since Russia has actually HAS put its troops in in the territory of it's former Imperial positions in violation of their sovereignty and international law.
I seriously do not understand the support given to Russia and Putin here. If the U.S. did this, these same folks would be decrying the "warmongers."
