Tacoma methanol project canceled

"Protests had no effect, according to company president..." More than the effect they had bribing local politicians apparently... So the largest methanol plant in the world is not going to be built in my town. I am dancing a wild jig as I type! Screw the frackin, oil pipeline guzzling, methanol poisoning bastards wherever they may raise their dirty little butts!! Sniff your own gas fumes you a-holes.

Sadly, now Portland, Oregon's turn to get organized.

the recall petitions against politicians, the referendum on limiting the water we sell to corporate pirates, the angry phone calls and community packing the environmental review board meetings, the rubber stamp meetings. We win this round. And let that be a lesson to the greedy politicians who think citizens will just lie down and take it when they destroy our communities. Those days are over.
