New Hampshire Republican representative Kyle Tasker has a history of questionable antics. In 2014, for example, he said that he should be allowed to join the Black caucus because he is “fond of rap music.” Now, Tasker’s actions have gone far enough that he is finally facing legitimate consequences. The 30 year-old representative is now behind bars for possessing drugs and arranging a meeting with a 14 year-old girl, reports Union Leader’s Jason Schreiber.

Tasker is specifically charged with using Facebook Messenger to arrange a meeting with a 14 year-old girl, with the intent to commit aggravated felonious sexual assault. According to NECN, Tasker told the girl, “This is how guys my age get into trouble.” Additionally, he offered drugs, asked for sexual favors, and sent her pornographic videos. Some of the offers and messages were even sent during State House committee meetings.

According to prosecutor Stephanie Ilberg-Lamm, the investigation into Kyle Tasker’s behavior began in late January, after Nottingham police were notified that Tasker had allegedly sexually harassed a young female. The police then formulated a plan, where an officer posed as a 14 year-old girl and made arrangements with Tasker online to meet in person. As Nottingham Police Chief Gunnar Foss said, “If you go after children, we’ll be knocking on your door – it’s that simple.”

When the officer arrived at the agreed upon meeting place, Tasker was present and armed with a loaded gun. He was arrested on the spot. Later, in a thorough search of his home, it was discovered that, along with loaded weapons throughout the house and in his vehicle, he was in possession of marijuana, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and the drug Soboxone — a drug used to treat opiate addiction. The drugs were packaged and labeled, clearly indicating Tasker’s intent to sell.
