(68,918 posts)I know far too many older Democrats who haven't given up. It's anecdotal, but my 71-year-old father is a proud Bernie Bro. He welcomes the name because it rejuvenates him. I still maintain it's a battle between the haves and and the have-nots. Some can afford to vote for the establishment. Others can not.

(9,314 posts)I am 65 years old, and I have supported Sanders since long before he announced. I used to listen to him talk and think, "Geez, I wish he would run for President." I agree with just about all the planks in in platform.
Age is just a frame of mind. I have several nephews who are still very young but Republican through and through.

The Establishment is desperately pushing the meme that we should abandon hope, that resistance is futile.
But we see the weakness in the Borg.

I'm 58, and though I'd given up last year when faced with the "inevitability" of Hillary Clinton, I'm a steadfast Bernie supporter who is excited about the revolution.
I think the people who may have given up are those who can't get any news other than from the MSM. It's all doom and gloom about Bernie and the others in the forefront of the revolution. Once they learn there's another way, they seem to become energized. Just ask the Millenials how that happens.
