Bid to override Haslam veto of Bible as Tennessee book fails

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (AP) — A bid to override Gov. Bill Haslam's veto of a bill to make Tennessee the first state to designate the Bible as its official book failed in the state House on Wednesday.

Luckily for the Tennessee legislature there aren't any pressing issues to address, so they can spend their days passing meaningless legislation that appeals to the worst ideas among some of their more vocal and less stable constituents.
