Seymour Hersh interview - interesting
"The Saudis bribed the Pakistanis not to tell us [that the Pakistani government had Bin Laden] because they didnt want us interrogating Bin Laden (thats my best guess), because he wouldve talked to us, probably. My guess is, we dont know anything really about 9/11. We just dont know. We dont know what role was played by whom."
He seems to imply that the Saudi's knew of Bin Laden's location and did not want the U.S. interrogating him. Interview goes on :
: So you dont know if the hush money was from the Saudi government or private individuals?
SH: The money was from the government
what the Saudis were doing, so Ive been told, by reasonable people (I havent written this) is that they were also passing along tankers of oil for the Pakistanis to resell. Thats really a lot of money (100 of millions he states later)
So the Saudi's hid Bin Laden in Pakistan and it appears when the whole thing began to unravel, it was best to simply kill him because it would save everyone - the U.S., Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia - a lot of embarrassment and grief.
