4. Reminds me of the Simpsons episode where Homer became sanitation commissioner

and the responsible sanitation commissioner (Steve Martin) was asked to come back and take over after it was clear that Homer trashed the town (literally) and he basically laughed at how the town had screwed itself by electing Homer and walked off.

2. "Sensible Republicans" died out in two mass-extinction events many years ago.

Too embarrassed to vote for whoever is going to be the GOP nominee.

In another election cycle or two, I suspect they will become Democrats.

I assume he held his nose and went with Kasich, who carried Manhattan. There may be hope: Trump's NY surrogate Carl Paladino is so awful that R.S. voted for Cuomo instead when "Palomino" ran for governor.
