With so many police and fire departments putting the words In God We Trust on their vehicles, its gotten to the point where I stopped posting articles about them because theyre a dime a dozen. Thats not just a figure of speech I get dozens of links to stories about that happening every few days. Its really disturbing.
But the Austin Police Department in Arkansas is defying the trend in the best possible way.
Move over, God. Theyre putting We the People on their vehicles, because theyre here to defend the Constitution, thank you very much.
The Austin Police Department has added a new decal to their patrol vehicles. The decal states We The People which is the opening statement to the preamble of the United States Constitution. Chief James Kulesa related; this is to reflect that as law enforcement officers, we are committed and sworn to uphold the laws of this nation and the ideals of the Constitution, without bias, prejudice, or personal opinion. It further reflects law enforcement officers are also We The People.

(1,511 posts)Austin is a bit northeast of Little Rock on the main road. No clue how it pulled such an amazing move. The northwest is more liberal in the state, but Little Rock is also. It is amazing that with all of the recent news about the KKK and such our state is doing this even-though were are in the biblebelt. Maybe I will stop off in Austin for something next time I am there going to Little Rock.

Their warped interpretation of it but just the same..

(1,511 posts)I did, we learned about Jesus in class, I had books on evolution thrown in the trash in front of the teacher, I was given religious hand out on the way home in the school bus, and not even the teachers understood what an atheist was...had one try to explain to another kid what I was and he explained it as if I was a Christian that was not a strict internationalist but still believed in god. The fact they are not plastering that in the "In god we trust" cr@p is a massive step forward.

Many drivers with those signs seem to be putting a little too much trust in God.
