Almost No One Would Have Insurance If Pre Existing Conditions Come Back.

Ryan wants to bring back pre existing conditions. That would mean that almost all Americans over time would not have insurance. Only the youngest and healthiest might have insurance. Everyone else with even a sniffle would just have to die early.

and make it to Medicare with no real health issues.

That little asshole will just never get it, that allowing insurance companies to welsh on covering preexisting conditions means they turn into institutions that pick our pockets while providing nothing in return.

...until you become ill, and need your insurance, and in checking out your application, they discover you did not mention you had the mumps/measles when you were three years old....DENIED! For 'lying' on your application!

2. Which is why (I am on Medicare, with a Humana supplement) I don't tell my doctor much.

Republicans don't like Medicare, Third Way does not like Medicare - IMO, because it is too much like Single Payer, and does not generate huge profits.

So - who knows how long it will be around in its present state. As long as I am in good health, I don't want random crap on my Permanent Record. Humana wants to send someone to check out my home for "dangers". Um, nope. Humana wants me to swipe a little card for their information, before I buy food - ah, no, that's not going to happen. My doctor (I do like her) almost seems disappointed every year when I don't say I am depressed and need meds for that. Who knows what can be used against oneself at a later date? is my philosophy.

a home visit for someone (claimed it was a physician) to come out and do a wellness check -- check blood pressure, weight etc. I said "So you really think I'm going to let stranger in my house, and then let that person do a medical exam on me? That's never going to happen." The woman on the phone acted like I hurt her feelings or something. Geez! They haven't brought up the food card thing. Probably don't dare after the conversation about a home visit. For what its worth, I have my own doctor and, like you, am in good health.

who was Charge Nurse in ER for nearly 20 years said when she went on per diem to have some control over travel, etc that she lost her health insurance. She went to get private insurance but could not get it because she was on high blood pressure meds! Her bp was in control with it, but that one med was all it took to deny her or make the premium so high she couldn't afford it.

She went on long biking trips, hiked all the time, was supremely fit - in perfect health - but nope ...

To make damned sure we don't let any republican in the WH next year, and we vote out as many republicans from congress as we can. Contrary to what many here try to tell you, both parties are NOT THE SAME!

Millions of people could lose health insurance. Millions could die, but for many here it's all about themselves, and how their candidate didn't win, so they are going to take their vote and flush it down the toilet so they can "teach the party a lesson"! I just don't understand how people can vote against their own well being when they know just how bad it would be if Trump, or even worse Cruz, were to be our next president.

Wake up people. If you want change then work for it at local and state levels. Revolution starts at the local level and works it way up to the top. Revolution never even gets started if republicans gain control for the next four years. Think about it.

And their shareholders, including and especially board members and corporate officers.
Profits über alles!

This is why we need a single payer system here. For fu<k's sake -- every other civilized country has one. This is not rocket science. But as long as HCA, "non-profit" health care delivery systems, insurance companies and -- of course -- Big Pharma deploy their armies of lobbyists to Capitol Hill, that ain't likely to happen any time soon.
