Coffee with Democrats at the diner in Iowa..

Early this morning a bunch of us met for coffee.. old friends.. all of us Democrats.. and we spent a couple of hours discussing every issue you could think of .. among the many things brought up was the observations on changes in the work market that will never come back and that is manufacturing..

You put us all together and we have a massive amount of information between us.. this was so interesting.. after WW2 50% of all manufacturing was done in the United States.. and that was for a simple reason.. so much of the world had been decimated by war..

As countries rebuilt.. they started to compete and manufacturing dropped each and every decade in the United States as the rest of the world came back..

But it was not only the rest of the world recovering but industries using robots.. and that has continued.. this is something we are all aware of.. Now even service industries are becoming more automated.. how many of us go through the automated check out at the local store??

So we get a Donald Trump who is going to force industries back into the United States.. well only problem with that.. is those industries are becoming more and more automated.. the world of the 50's that Donald Trump keeps stumping around the country will not come back.. the world has changed..

And there is the nub.. when we oldsters graduated high school and college or did not graduate.. we could go to the local factories and make a decent living and have a middle class existence..

There really will be problems as less and less people are needed to do jobs that we traditionally looked to..

What will the future hold for our children and grandchildren?? its a changing world with an ever changing global economy..

Lying to people the way Trump is doing will not make us a better country with better paying jobs..

Rebuilding the country will bring good jobs.. but that is a Democratic premise.. not a republican one..

Lots to think about

They think he is a successful businessman, so he must know what he's talking about. He'll grab the indies that Hillary will lose.
