Summary of the events of the massacre on the farm in Al-Qubair located in the suburbs of Hama - 6/6/2012

-----------------------------------------------

The criminal Assad regime has grown accustomed to committing the most gruesome and horrific massacres in the most infamous ways since the beginning of the revolution in Syria. The regime has a zest for killing children and women, as though their hearts have been covered by a stain, as seen by the massacre in Al-Houla in Homs, followed by the massacre in Mashaa Alfurusiya in Hama; one massacre followed by the next, all committed by the same deadly perpetrator.

Today, June 6, 2012, regime security forces and thugs began by shelling the farm in Al-Qubair that is located 20 km west of Hama and 2 km away from the village of Ma'arzaf. The shelling began at 1 in the afternoon and lead to the fall of 9 martyrs, but this was not enough for the regime. Assad thugs then stormed the village, with the help of the nearby villages loyal to the regime, including the village of Aseela, and Assad militias and proceeded to attack the residents with knives and firearms. They entered the farm of Qubair amid intense gunfire and raided the homes and opened fire on residents in a random manner, without discriminating between children and adults. After that, they led the men out of their homes and slaughtered them with knives, then burned more than 10 bodies. They continued this until they killed everyone on the farm except 1 person who miraculously escaped. This small town does not exceed a population of 250 people, and there are only 20 homes, as the majority of the residents are from a single family consisting of uncles, brothers and sisters, who were all killed without mercy or pity, not even on the innocent children.

At least 88 people were martyred in Hama today. This includes 6 burnt corpses that were found in Kafarzeita, and 78 killed in Al-Qubair massacre near Ma'arzaf. More than 40 of those killed came from the same family, and most of the victims were women and children. The names of 60 of the victims have arrived so far. The regime forces have also abducted more than 37 bodies and it should be noted that the site of the massacre is an area where not 1 protest has ever taken place and it was not expected to be a target. However, as history repeats itself, the area was prey to pro-regime villages surrounding it known as Aseela village and the Al-Qubair village was anti-government thus fell under the hands of such brutal pro-regime thugs. After they finished the massacre, the abducted bodies were attached to the back of cars and driven through the pro-Assad areas with citizens dancing on them.
