I really don't think that it is time to panic yet.....

In talking to many of my Republican friends (not the crazy kind), I've observed that many of them share
the same sense of disbelief that we do over this Trump thing. In fact, most of them were not happy with either Cruz OR Trump.
Even here in Texas, I have heard very few people saying "Go Trump". In spite of his win...my spidey-sense tells me that
the Republican party is far from coalescing behind The Donald.

I'm here in TX too and about 1/2 my block is swearing they're going to vote for The Orange One (TM). Me, I'm still rooting for Sanders. Go, Bernie, GO!

NPR used that word approximately a billion times this morning while giddily reporting on Cruz' collapse.

Sure, it's accurate, but I'd prefer something more visceral, like "Republicans are hoping that the base will congeal around Trump" or "Republican voters are clotting with Trump."

How about "inspissate"? To thicken and become dense? Inspissate with Trump.

Or The GOP will encopresis behind Trump. Looks like Rience Prebuis has already started!

Lots of more effective words out there, but they latched onto "coalesce" and hung there like grim death.

but the party machinery decides to sit out the election. Doesn't he need them for the ground game? What if they just don't cooperate in a passive aggressive sort of way?

Like, They knew it was coming...but were maybe hoping for some kind of weird miracle

Now it is truly setting in. Three already said more than likely they are sitting this one out. (These are educated higher middle class republicans not your average bundy type idiot)

The head shaking is being felt around the country LOL

We're likely to field a candidate who has high negatives; Trump negates that. He could still win, but he isn't their strongest candidate for the general election.
