Newsflash! Senators and Congresspersons are ALL either filthy rich or

bought and paid for by the filthy rich (save maybe Bernie Sanders). For all of their blather about helping the middle class, they will not help the middle class. To do so would require them to pass legislation that would further require sacrifice on their part. It is NOT gonna happen!

All the rhetoric otherwise is just talk to try and make the base think they really care about us.

One of these days the people will wake up to the reality, and there will be another revolution in this country. Rich folk will do well to get the heck out of Dodge when that happens. When you back a dog into a corner it will bite you out of fear. When the day comes when the worker becomes a slave (and that day is coming..if not already here) they will rise up against the overlords; and, it won't pretty.

It is happening in the Middle East. It is starting to happen in Europe. Pay close attention to what is happening there and how it all ties into their economies. It is a preview of coming attractions.

1. Feingold was the poorest Senator we had, and we all know what happened to him.

His biggest asset is his house in Sun Prairie. Apparently, WI voters (the same ones who will support Obama in November, but supported Walker in the recall, riiiiggght) wanted a Koch-brothers tea bagger instead of Feingold. Peculiar.

4. Feingold did not and would not run.

Your assertion has no validity. Feingold didn't face Snotty in the recall election, a guy who had already lost to him did.

I know damn well that Feingold didn't lose in a recall election, nor did he ever face Walker. I don't know what you're assuming my assertion is, but to each his own.

Oh dopey me. Here I thought that Feingold wasn't an option and now I find how wrong I was.

7. Two separate races. Feingolds was in 2010 against a different Koch brother tea bagger.

.. it was me that conflated two separate races into one. Pardon me while I go do my penance.

3. Serving in Congress has become a doorway for access to the true power in America

The notion of running for office to serve America, to better your congressional district has flown by the wayside ages ago.
I don't know if we can get people to run for office out of a sense of civic duty any more, but there are things that we must try to do:

Kill Citizens United and dump it next to binLaden.
Publicly fund ALL elections.
No private donations to political candidates period. You can't spend your own money, only public funds
reinstatement of the fairness doctrine and make it applicable to cable and satellite.
Free equal airtime to political candidates.
same day voting registration
