Remember back when Paris Hilton was in the LA County jail? There were two dozen satellite trucks parked outside and remote feeds with talking heads breathlessly reporting every move she made, complete with press conferences every twelve minutes:

"At 11:23 AM, inmate Hilton was served a lunch of peanut butter and jelly on white bread and a bag of potato chips. Lay's regular potato chips to be exact. Inmate Hilton finished her lunch at 11:47, and at 11:53 she farted and then rolled over on her cot, scratching her ass as she did so. We'll have further updates as they develop, so please stay tuned...."

For some reason, prison food and prison routines are fascinating to people who are not in jail. There's even a website with pictures of prison food and school food--the main clue is that the prisoners get more food!

I realize he can buy whatever he wants in jail. What is sad to me, is that there are people 5 blocks from where I live who are wondering where their next meal is coming from.

Does anyone really care? There are actual newsworthy things going on out there that get no coverage but we need to know in great detail what this fucking jamoke is eating in jail?
