Tulsa law school to remove founder's name after discovering affiliation with the KKK

The University of Tulsa law school is ridding itself of the name of a man who played a role in establishing the Ku Klux Klan in Oklahoma and who failed to prosecute Klansmen for their hate crimes in the 1920's.

Trustees at the Tulsa law school voted Wednesday to remove the name of their school’s founder, John Rogers, after his association with the white supremacist organization came to light.

“This decision represents TU’s demonstrated commitment to fostering an academic environment that is informed by historical perspective, guided by the search for truth and motivated by service to a diverse society,” a statement put out by the school read ...
