Horrifyingly, Ground Baby Pills Are a Real Thing

"Supposedly, the television team paid a lot of money to get some of the pills, and when they tested them, found the pills’ contents were 99.7 percent human, and were also able to discern the babies’ gender from the powder, as well as found hair and nail remnants," reads Geekosystem's report on the documentary, which notes that the babies are "mostly" stillbirths and abortions.

I am, for one, hoping that this is just a hoax that several media outlets are being duped by.

I think this is more "look how evil the Chinese are" from an ancient enemy of China that too many in the West are swallowing. The use of the loaded word "babies" for what is being described - fetal remains - is telling. Given that some traditional Chinese medicine does involve terrible animal abuse, going that extra step to baby-eating seems almost believable ... unless one thinks about it for a moment or two.

Pills containing fetal remains is a disgusting idea, but less horrific than actual babies in a gelatin capsule form.
