OPEN LETTER to Joe Scarborough: I don't think Mitt Romney's an asshole because he's rich

Dear Joe,

I watched your edgy, hip, Starbucks product placement infotainment program this morning and didn't realize you were under the weather until after your four hour rant against the New York Times and their article on Mitt Romney's home. Was it four hours? It seemed like four hours. Maybe it was less. But that's not what's important.

When I heard the rant, my first reaction was "Joe's had too much Nyquil." Imagine that! I thought you did the rant under the influence of too much cold medicine, and I didn't even know you had the sniffles. Sometimes I surprise myself.

Joe, please understand something.

I understand that John Kerry is "wealthy." I understand that when he went windsurfing, "some" people (especially "your" people, Joe, the Republicans) felt that branded him as "out of touch" with the common man. I understand John Kerry has a gazillion dollars and many homes.

I also understand that he is a decorated Veteran of the Vietnam war, and that Mitt Romney...despite his remarks that he "longed" to go there as well...actively sought FOUR deferments from Military service and hung out in France, sharing the "good news" of his church, while every day John Kerry got out of bed and wondered if today would be the day that some Viet Cong soldier would blow his ass off.

Your show is a hoot, Joe! Mika and that sweater! Willie and...well, Willie. It's the single greatest reality-based infotainment program on TV, and the endless shots of you and the gang sipping tasty Starbucks beverages serve as a constant reminder that I am long overdue for a trip to Starbucks so I can purchase one of those TAY-stee $10 beverages for myself. Do you guys have to pay for your beverages? And if you do, do you take turns? I'll bet Willie calls in sick every time it's his turn to pay...that little SCAMP. His show about getting out of bed too early is the funniest thing I've ever seen, EVER. Every day it's "Why aren't you still in BED, Willie," and he always says something HILARIOUS like "Got a show to do" and I literally can't stop laughing.

In short, Joe...I don't think Mitt Romney is an asshole because he's rich.

I think Mitt Romney is an asshole because he's an asshole.

Put that in your latte and sip it, jagoff. Go take a fucking nap or something and lay off the cough syrup.

Ta for now (what WILL Mika be wearing TOMORROW?),

Amerigo Vespucci

The only alteration I would make would be the following:

I also understand that he is a decorated Veteran of the Vietnam war, and that Mitt Romney...despite his remarks that he "longed" to go there as well...actively sought FOUR deferments from Military service and hung out in France, sharing the "good news" of his church, while every day John Kerry got out of bed and wondered if today would be the day that some Viet Cong soldier would blow his ass off , maybe, the day he would be called upon to kill.

Most soldiers, that have been to war, do not relish the thought of having to kill another human being. But those that "had other priorities" or "higher callings" or were diligently protecting the air-space over Texas from the communist hoards (when they were not on campaign trips) ... well, they lament missing the opportunity.

...the distinction I wanted to make was that John Kerry, like the overwhelming majority of men and women who served in our Military, probably did not "want" to be in a combat situation 7 days a week. Who would?

But Kerry served his country and Romney had the balls to say he "longed" to go to Vietnam after four deferments.

That's one item on a list that makes me say "Mitt Romney is an asshole. YES, his wealth DOES give him an air of entitlement, which I find repellant. But there are qualities in the man that existed long before he became a multi-millionaire that readily qualify him for the distinction of "asshole."

but have you noticed how the gang gets a break during the 7:00 to 7:15 CT time slot so they can rerun the 5:00 to 5:15 CT show? Really, they can't even work a full 3 hours? Poor darlings.

PS Good letter. It made me LOL.

So you did not send it to him? If not, you really should.

BTW..I just watched a Lawrence O'Donnell clip of how Rmoney liked to dress up in cop uniforms and pull people over (he had a red light he put on the top of his Rambler!)
This guy is a fucking creep!

The guy is an asshole BECAUSE he was raised rich.

Not all rich people are assholes. But it takes a certain amount of wealth (family wealth?) to be that much of an asshole (and get away with it).

For some reason, he evokes a high desire to place fist through screen. I don't know what it is. I guess it's his smarmy self confidant supposed "reasonableness" wrapped in gobs of intellectual dishonesty.

He was part of the class of assholes who started us down this path and, to hear him, it was all wine and roses when he was in office. He suffers from "the older I get, the better I was" syndrome.

And he's an intern murderer.

Joe Scarborough was repellent this morning...and there was no one sticking up for the progressive side of the issue. I don't know what kind of a journalist Mika is supposed to be. She is obviously a woman of privilege, but knows when to keep her mouth shut and today was one of those days.

They had that oily dirtbag Donny Deutsch on recently and he was wearing a ridiculous suit (think polyester used car salesman garb from the late 70s-early 80s). The whole show that day revolved around wisecracks about the suit. Scarborough didn't let it go, from start of the show to finish. It was the same thing today with Mika's sweater.

. . . whenever you're constipated.

Maybe you didn't know that he was good for something after all.
But, whenever I am constipated, I watch Joe's program the next morning, and sure enough, within just a few minutes I have to go have a bowel movement.
Sometimes, I go back after sitting on the throne, and will watch some more of his program, but then sometimes I'll develop a case of the drizzling shitz.
And that's not good.

So, I limit myself to watching his program for only about 15 minutes whenever I am blocked up to prevent from getting a bad case of diarrhea.
Because that is the effect Joe Scarbrow has on me.

I may not be the only one that is affected that way by Joe Scarbrow, I don't know.
But, at least I publicly admit it.
In the name of science, because sometimes over-the-counter medicines don't go to work as fast.

....but I had already written two emails to the show, on its' web site, saying pretty much the same thing, before I noticed that there was already a thread going on at DU about the same topic. Except, if I remember correctly, my choice of words for The Joe was 'fecal orifice', rather than....well, you know. I did that because I wanted them to take my emails seriously. But my main point was that I asked for him to be removed from the show. I told 'em that a "Cup of Mika" would be a lot easier to swallow (if you know what I mean, and I think that you do).

For any of you who may be interested, Jon Stewart squeezed Scarborough's gonads in pretty much the same way, over the same incident. It is on the Web, in case any of you may care to laugh even further.
