US ignores Pakistanis’ feelings about drone attacks: Analyst

Pentagon chief Leon Panetta has said the US would continue its drone attacks in Pakistan despite complaints from Islamabad that the strikes violate its sovereignty.

The US defense secretary claimed on Wednesday that the attacks help the US defend itself against what he called terrorist threats.

Washington claims the raids target militants but locals say that civilians are the majority of the victims of the attacks. The Pakistani public is outraged over the attacks.

Press TV talks with Liaghat Ali Khan, a professor at Washburn University from Topeka, Kansas, to discuss the issue further.

How Secretary Panetta delivers US policy to the media? It's all about the terrorists. You harbor, we blow you to crap. Oh and by the way the definition of terrorist was just updated again today.

Collateral damage (read innocent lives) be damned
Sovereignty be damned
Blow back be damned

Our nation slips further towards totalitarian plutocratic fascism every day.

... and thus it's not a big surprise when Pakistan goes

And, no, I'm not a fan of warfare. Just telling it like it is.

I don't see any other way of getting those gophers out of the lawn. I can understand Pakistan's hesitation to go after the vermin, seeing how something like 70% of that country are Taliban/Al Qaeda friendly. Launching an assault on the extremists would likely lead to an armed uprising, and these guys got nukes. Not wise. Drone strikes are a necessary evil.

And our secret CIA armies.

And our drone fleet.

Al Qaeda is decimated. The Taliban are mainly interested in doing their thing locally.

All we are achieving is perpetual war.
