I think I've been into hundreds of bathrooms across this fugging planet

and not once did I wonder if someone in there was transgendered.

Would someone please explain this ReTHUG BS - it is as real as their 'trumped up' rubbish re voter fraud.

I'm from a city with a large LGBT population and live somewhere with a larger LGBT population. Sharing a bathroom with transwomen - or even men in drag - has never been a problem in any way. Whether at a club or at work, we're all going in there to get out as soon as we're done!

was transgendered I wouldn't have cared, because any such person would have been in the ladies' room because they identified as female (and for all intents and purposes would therefore be female), and would be doing what any other woman would be doing in there. I've also never seen a man in a woman's bathroom. Once again, it's a nonexistent "problem" that's been phonied-up by right-wingers to oppress people they don't approve of.

are always extreme-right wing oriented. Why? Because stupid people will go to the polls to 'vote' for stupid people who represent stupid ideals like their own.

Why? Because usually, stupid people don't vote. And if these stupid people will go to the polls to vote on a single issue, they'll continue their alliance alllll the way over to the right, putting ultra corrupt, moronic right wing idiots in office.

Don't be fooled, this isn't about effing toilets or trans-gender rights or non-rights as it were, it's about getting effing morons into the voting booths to vote extreme right tickets.

people are seeing through their war on gay folk - the gay marriage victory sent them into a frenzy - so in an effort to keep the bigotry alive, that bigotry that along with god and guns makes people vote stupid, they've turned their phobia spotlight on transgendered folk

It's really true that a major difference between Repukes and Dems is fear...Repukes are fearful of many things, and there are those that exploit this to their advantage.

That explains the timing, anyway.

The good news - at least if we keep making progress and don't make a huge reversal this fall - is they are running out of issues that will move voters to the polls. (Of course there will always be abortion, but I guess they don't think that's enough.)

with a transgendered woman (she had recently been talking about her experiences as a transgendered person) in a public bathroom because she was letting the water run while talking - which to this Californian in the midst of a drought is a much more serious concern.

Otherwise, how much time does one spend in bathrooms anyway?

coworkers trying to cause trouble for a somewhat "sexually ambiguous" other coworker. When I declined to be worried, they asked me what I would do if she looked under the stall at me. I told them they were the people I had reason to suspect might do that and if they didn't drop this troublemaking immediately I'd report it to HR, or whatever we called it then.

Has someone already mentioned the hotline NC's set up to encourage these nasties to "report" possible restroom infractions?

incompetence behind.

They tell their braindead followers, XYZ are going to destroy the economy, NEVER how THEY are going to fix the economy...just scapegoat...collect a paycheck and do the exact same thing next week!

What is PATHETIC is how well their simplistic plan works with millions of voters...

TERMS TO AVOID

Problematic: "transgendered"
Preferred: transgender
The adjective transgender should never have an extraneous "-ed" tacked onto the end. An "-ed" suffix adds unnecessary length to the word and can cause tense confusion and grammatical errors. It also brings transgender into alignment with lesbian, gay, and bisexual. You would not say that Elton John is "gayed" or Ellen DeGeneres is "lesbianed," therefore you would not say Chaz Bono is "transgendered."

It is politicians' go-to rhetoric to convince people to support authoritarian BS, from taking away the rights of GLBT folks to going after video games, to legitimizing domestic surveillance, to restricting people's rights to own firearms.

but so many don't know that.

God, Guns, Abortions, Gays are the wedge issues that 'CONs win elections on. the only two that concerns me at all is Guns and God. Abortions doesn't bother me as I'm a guy and Gays don't bother me cause I'm a straight guy. I have a dear friend who I've known since the day he was born and I'm here to say he did NOT chose to be gay, he was born gay. He has a right to life, "in my view," more so than these righteous asshole who get all bent out of shape over this.
My standard question to these asshole anti'gay people is When did you decide you weren't gay and they all say the same thing, I never had to because I'm not gay and my reply is exactly. At that point some see the light many don't. Hate is a strong force is all I know for sure
