What is our message?

Where is our message?

Really, I do not want any of my paltry dollars (those few I can spare to donate to a lot of dem. groups) WASTED because we don't have a damn message.

Ok, so I'm a pee-ed off Wisconsin Badger, but damn it, we have to have a better message, SOME message, that EVERYONE can understand, even the 'low-information' (nice euphemism, right?) voters. You do not want to know how many women, for example, I have talked to in my state since Tuesday who did NOT know that Walker is busy with an anti-woman agenda (seek information on Walker and denying women access to the courts for pay discrimination based on gender.)

If President Obama can raise $60 million dollars, SPEND SOME OF THAT ON HIRING A WORDSMITH, , someone who can frame the message.

I do think that lack of a CLEAR message did not help us in Wisconsin, in the face of all of those $$$s.

Cripes, sponsor some doofus on Dancing With the Stars, or American Idol, or whatever folks watch.

I have had it.

As long as I have been old enough to keep up with politics I have known the Republican message but not the Democratic one.

Of course the Republicans system creates the message and tells everyone to join if you agree, get out if you don't.

Democrats on the other hand invites everyone in then tries to for a common message.

It is about as easy as herding cats.

The question is that our greatest strength or greatest weakness?

Restore our middle class.
Return to justice.
A fair shake for everyone.
Perserverence and grit.

Take a look at the Superbowl Clint Eastwood Chrysler commercial. That inspired. That made people proud. That should be our message.

I'm talking a message! A real message.

Read an article today about one of the recalls for the senate here in WI. The dem lost, and she said it succintly-the dems didn't have a STRONG message.

And everyone here in Wisconsin kept hearing Walker's "It's Working!"

Like it or not, it got across.

After he abandons the state to live in Kansas you will have no one to blame but yourselves.

or

This is one of the democratic party's major problems. They don't seem to take a very hard stance on anything anymore.

A friend of mine likes to say that Republicans circle the wagons and shoot at Democrats. Democrats circle the wagons, and shoot each other.

It cant get much clearer then that and polling shows the public supports the ideas by a wide majority.

The Democratic Party is a big tent with many contituencies that have differing agendas. Progresiives, conservadems, gun rights activists, gun-control activists, environmentalists, women's rights advocates, GLBT advocates, pro-choice advocates and probably others that call themselves Democrats are in the tent. Such a diverse group will not agree on a succinct message stating what the party stands for. As a result, the message is diluted to the least common denominator and changes with whatever issue is in the public spotlight at any given time.

It's been that way for as long as I can remember. I don't have a solution.

Of course, the Republicans have the same message. It's a dual of the "not as bads".
