1. Gawker article. Some of the comments recount some startling

May 2016

stuff- like this:
In the early 1990s, Jill Harth and her boyfriend at the time, George Houraney, worked with Mr. Trump on a beauty pageant in Atlantic City, and later accused Mr. Trump of inappropriate behavior toward Ms. Harth during their business dealings. In a 1996 deposition, Ms. Harth described their initial meeting with Mr. Trump at Trump Tower.

Donald Trump stared at me throughout that meeting. He stared at me even while George was giving his presentation. … In the middle of it he says to George, “Are you sleeping with her?” Meaning me. And George looked a little shocked and he said, “Well, yeah.” And he goes, “Well, for the weekend or what?”

–Jill Harth, former pageant promoter

Mr. Houraney said in a recent interview that he was shocked by Mr. Trump’s response after he made clear that he and Ms. Harth were monogamous.

“He said: ‘Well, there’s always a first time. I am going after her,’ ” Mr. Houraney recalled, adding: “I thought the man was joking. I laughed. He said, ‘I am serious.’ ”

By the time the three of them were having dinner at the Oak Room of the Plaza Hotel the next night, Mr. Trump’s advances had turned physical, Ms. Harth said in the deposition.

“Basically he name-dropped throughout that dinner, when he wasn’t groping me under the table,” she testified. “Let me just say, this was a very traumatic thing working for him.”

Mr. Trump frequently sought assurances — at times from strangers — that the women in his life were beautiful. During the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant, he sat in the audience as his teenage daughter, Ivanka, helped to host the event from onstage. He turned to Brook Antoinette Mahealani Lee, Miss Universe at the time, and asked for her opinion of his daughter’s body.

“ ‘Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?’ ” Ms. Lee recalled him saying. ‘I was like, ‘Really?’ That’s just weird. She was 16. That’s creepy.”

But it's pretty obvious he loves his kids and they love him so it should be no surprise to anyone that photography is going to reflect that affection.

Calling Trump a creep for something creepy he said is one thing. Saying these things about his daughter is only going to have the effect of being hurtful towards her, which I think is kinda creepy.

A girl standing behind her dad hugging him and kissing him on the cheek.

What's weird in the other one is the way she's reclined, and the way she's turned toward him touching his cheek. I'm not particuarly bothered by his hand on her hip - parents do touch their kids, even on their hips. But the pose, reclining, turning and touching his cheek, isn't really a father/daughter pose, or a mother/son pose for that matter.

71. I'm not expecting anything other than subjective opinion
Mon May 16, 2016, 09:24 AM
May 2016

But it's certainly worth pointing out that those opinions are quite subjective and as such are going to be highly influenced by prejudice. The objective fact is in both pictures parent and child are posed in very affectionate poses. Trying to claim there's some kind of significant difference is simply a reflection of that subjective opinion. Claiming one can tell the difference between parental/child affection and incestuous desire by the way they are turned or touching each others face seems more than a bit ridiculous to me, but I'm not going to say your subjective opinion is wrong as there's just no way to prove one or the other, but one can envision the hypothetical with that prejudice eliminated.

Do you think if Trump and his daughter had made that exact same pose as the other picture, the same people would also have called it creepy?

Going the other way do you think outside this context if two unknown people with the gender roles reversed had made the exact same pose, the same people would call it creepy?

I'm pretty sure the answers are yes to the first and no to the second. You may have different answers.

That she is sitting on his lap...she is too old for that.

He is attracted to her, as he has said in other words. He's in love with his own image in female form, is my guess.

As a former teenage daughter myself, there is no way on this earth that my father would have had that kind of touching going on with me. He loved me with his whole heart, but not like that. Those are sexual gestures and it is super, super creepy.

Plus the birds.

17. And more
Sun May 15, 2016, 07:56 AM
May 2016

This picture, pulled from a Vanity Fair shoot at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, was taken a full seven years before Trump told Howard Stern “You know who’s one of the great beauties of the world, according to everybody. And I helped create her. Ivanka. My daughter, Ivanka. She’s six feet tall, she’s got the best body.”

It was also 10 years before he detailed his thoughts about Ivanka appearing in Playboy:

It would be really disappointing — not really — but it would depend on what’s inside the magazine. I don’t think Ivanka would do that, although she does have a very nice figure. I’ve said if Ivanka weren’t my daughter, perhaps I’d be dating her.

And his further “compliments” about Ivanka in Rolling Stone:

Yeah, [Ivanka’s] really something and what a beauty, that one. If I weren’t happily married, and ya know, her father…

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh.

UPDATE: Thanks to the DT reader who tipped us off to a 2013 video clip of Trump, in which he shares his “favorite thing he has in common” with Ivanka.

real estate and golf.

When it is the Donald's turn, he says, "Well, I was going to say 'sex,'" and then gesturing toward Ivanka, he says, "but I can't. . . ." and then lets his voice trail off.

I think someone should compile the many examples of his creepiness toward his daughter and make sure they are widely seen--but it needs to be persons or groups with no actual connection to Hillary, Bernie, or the Democratic Party.
