The Charles and David Koch backed super PAC Freedom Partners Action Fund has purchased a $3 million advertising buy targeting the Pennsylvania Senate race. It's a large investment in a Senate race six months before Election Day, signaling that the group is going to aggressively play in races where they are ideologically aligned with the candidate.
Freedom Partners, the main political organization of the conservative billionaire political activists, have indicated they will not get involved in the presidential election this cycle because of their dislike of presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump.
Instead, the group said it would focus its monetary heft on key Senate races.
This Pennsylvania ad, which attacks Democrat candidate Katie McGinty, who is running against incumbent Republican Sen. Pat Toomey, comes less than two weeks after a $2 million ad purchase in Ohio. which is another state with a highly contested Senate race as Republican incumbent Sen. Rob Portman is trying to hold on to his seat.

The one good thing this time around is more people have heard of these scum and tying the money a Repuke receives from them is bad publicity for that Repuke candidate.

(6,399 posts)they know that. Dems always seem to forget that, hence missing midterms and only going on and on about the presidental level. infuriating beyond words.
I bet if you polled in GDP, most wouldn't know who else is running in their district/state for re-election and what they stand for.

(4,711 posts)From the Koch perspective, you've got two people running who are traditionally VERY friendly to moneyed, corporate interests. Why should they spend any money at all on this contest?

(5,737 posts)Until yesterday, he has done nothing to support any Democrat running for the Senate. Nothing. Without at least a Democrat majority in the Senate, nothing will get done by a Democrat President. How could Bernie, and his followers, not know that fact? Those fancy fundraisers that Bernie criticizes are raising money that goes to the DNC that send it to downticket Democrats running for office. A boatload of money will be needed too, because the Koch's know that their empire depends upon a GOP Senate
