I just logged on to DU (7:54a.m. AZ time) and scanned the entire front page of the site. And, I found only 1 article/OP that could remotely be considered a slap at HRC or any Democrat (down from approximately 40-50, last week ... there was only, and that was Greatest Page rec'd onto the front page) and THE VAST MAJORITY OF POLITICAL ARTICLES AND OPs WERE SLAPS AT trump AND/OR REPUBLICANS!
Congratulations DU ... I think we may have turned a corner!

It's starting to look like the DU of old.

(31,849 posts)have moved on to different strategies, such as working to influence the Party platform, or (begrudgingly, and with much disappointment) conceding that HRC will be the Democratic Nominee, and are turning their focus on the republicans ... neither of which involve attacking the presumptive Democratic nominee.
But I'm sure, at the 2 minute warning of the 4th quarter of last year's Superbowl, there were some Carolina fans yelling, "Manning, you suck!!!"; whereas, the rest had settled in and were enjoying their beer and hot wings.
Cobalt Violet
(9,905 posts)I move on when he does. Not a second before. It's called supporting your candidate. I don't listen to the the media or his opposition nagging me into not support my candidate of choice. I'm presuming he will be the nominee.
I don't like or watch sports, don't eat meat, and don't drink beer so I don' t know what you are saying.

Just a bunch of redundant articles about (you'll never guess!) Trump saying something stupid.
Who knew?
If I want to watch CNN, I'll watch CNN's continual repetition of Trumpisms. Why come here to read about them?

(8,699 posts)I am for holding them accountable. I am for advocating for ideals that matter to many progressives.
My politics and values are no different now than they were the day before Sanders announced his run.
a more serious problem is that our track record for "getting Democrats elected" is horrible.
In the last two mid-term elections we conceded hundreds of seats to teapublicans nationwide. Most importantly, we have lost governorships and control of dozens of state legislatures. If we don't correct that issue before the next census than we are likely out in the cold for a long time.
To pretend that we don't have serious issues and need a new direction is foolish. Cheerleading the status quo will get us the status quo. That is not directed at any specific politician but at our process and mindset.
Talk of compromise is easy as you long as you are not the one being compromised.

(1,145 posts)are abandoning DU the way we're going to abandon Hillary after her coronation in Philly. As Hillary's fans have consistently pointed out, Bernie's not even a Democrat so he shouldn't feel obliged to support her and neither should his supporters.
Good luck helping her beat Trump because you'll need it.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)and the few, that will abandon her after she WINS the Democratic nomination ... well ...
I suspect ... hope ... after the sting wears off and emotion cools, the vast majority of Bernie supporters will recognize the horror that a trump presidency will entail.
At least, that what Bernie supporters, that I have met in real life, have been saying.

AlbertCat
(17,505 posts)Yes, her supporters here were having a really hard time dealing with them. I mean Camp Weathervane had to block like 2/3s of DU's entire population! Same with the AA group.
They're so delicate.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)we just blocked the disrespectful asses.
AlbertCat
(17,505 posts)Sometimes, respect must be earned.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)would anyone work to earn the respect of an ass?
And, why would anyone care if that ass respected them?
I, certainly, won't; and, I, certainly, don't ... I just remove them from my space and keep it moving ... without giving it a second thought.
AlbertCat
(17,505 posts)So you are the only one in that group...and it's "your space".
And your opinion that someone is a disrespectful ass actually means without a doubt they are one.
Got it.
And as usual, you didn't get it. I wasn't talking about respecting the person you disrespect. I was taking about respecting your opinion. That must be earned.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)And your opinion that someone is a disrespectful ass actually means without a doubt they are one.
Got it.
I suspect if you worked as hard on a job ... any job ... as you do at misunderstanding the meaning of the written word ... you'd be a very, very wealth man/woman.
As a Host of the AA Group, I get a vote and input, either before or after the fact. So no ... by "my space", I was not referencing the Group. In MY time as a Host I have blocked exactly one person.
wildeyed
(11,243 posts)Just trash the groups and don't go there. You will be fine. Really.
AA hosts are really restrained with the blocks. There is almost always a warning first. Guidelines are pretty clear.

(65,616 posts)to play nice. I hope these new rules keeps them at bay, since all they do is make disruptive threads and cause division. DU will be a much better place without the serial disruptors imo.
1StrongBlackMan
(31,849 posts)had a severe partisan skew?
Rex
(65,616 posts)I am not really sure, I think for a new system to work it will have to be completely impartial. Yes sometimes it does seem partisan, yet that is what has caused so many problems as of late imo. Once we have a single nominee, hopefully the partisans will drop their grudges and start working as a team.

(1,306 posts)HRC camp has wanted BS to drop out since that day, which was roughly the 2nd quarter of a football game.
Take away the superdelagates and she leads by about 270 delegates -- hardly a blowout.
She has won just 6 more contests than he has. He will probably win California.
Sanders has acted no differently than Hillary did during the 2008 primaries.
#1 reason for backing HRC : "she has the best chance of winning in November."
Congratulations, if you backed the winner ! Cease the face slapping, commence with the backslapping.
Elections have consequences. If she wins the general election (which I pray to God she does)
then how do we expect her to change and IMPROVE upon the present conditions ?
Minimum wage increase ?
Workers rights and Labor unions ?
Immigration policy ?
Health care -- specifically protection and expansion of "Obamacare" ?
Protecting the solvency of SS and Medicare.
Military intervention in the Mideast and Iran ?
Legalization of marijuana / change in drug laws / incarceration rates of minorities (a.k.a. the super predators) ?
Tougher banking regulations / consumer protections ?
Sanders better represents "this democrat's" will regarding the issues...
and that is not the equivalent to a slap at Hillary. Difference of opinion.
She's going to win by a field goal... and with a little help from the zebras.

(7,963 posts)And then there are the Bernie folks here on DU who really made me stop and question if I was doing the right thing to support him. Thank god for real life. Kept a more realistic perspective.
Now that Primaries are just about over because Bernie can't just win. He needs to win by a landslide and that is not happening. We can hope, but that's not happening.
