you can forget the cash and cards.
In seven states, you can shop at Walmart even if you leave your wallet at home.
The huge retailer announced Thursday that it has expanded its Walmart Pay option by which users can upload their payment information once onto the companys app and then pay digitally when checking out to Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama and Georgia.
Customers have been able to use the app to check out in Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas since May.

I have not done the pay with cell phone but since soon it won't be an option, I best learn how to do it. I take a picture of my checks now for deposit. I love that. We are so lucky to live in a time of progressive technology. I love a big part of it.

(100,081 posts)Smartphones have only been around the last 5 years, have they not? This is the same debate we had in the 90s when debit cards first came into existence, people thought cash and checks were going away. But they're still here. Just because Wal-Mart and McDonald's can afford to have cashless apps doesn't mean everyone can or will use them.

Few places are tilting toward a cashless future as quickly as Sweden, which has become hooked on the convenience of paying by app and plastic.
This tech-forward country, home to the music streaming service Spotify and the maker of the Candy Crush mobile games, has been lured by the innovations that make digital payments easier. It is also a practical matter, as many of the countrys banks no longer accept or dispense cash.
